“ This is m new go-to place for a nice dinner with white table linen service, knowledgeable servers, great ambiance, and outstanding chefs. Kevin took good care of our table and helped us with menu and wine selections. I ordered the Pork Rib chop with the pistachio crust and scallion risotto which was absolutely delicious and tender and juicy. You'll regret it if you don't have it when you visit. The bread service is sooo good-warm soft focaccia seasoned just right with your own butter cup. We also ordered the Calamari and Wood Oven Roasted Cauliflower appetizers- excellent! There is a great selection of wines and some unique cocktails to try out too. We finished things off with carrot cake and finally threw in the towel. ”

“ First visit tonight for a Christmas party and it was amazing. General appearance of the restaurant was amazing. Very nice setting. Wait staff was amazing, very attentive, polite, and helpful Appetizers were amazing, bacon wrapped shrimp was delicious, chips with salsa and guacamole was amazing, skewers were perfect. I had the steak which was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. The wife had the salmon which she loved. Cocktails were also very good as were the desserts. “ A little loud. When planning their next remodeling, they should incorporate some noise suppression panels in the ceiling. However, the loudness isn't enough to keep people away. It has been here for many decades... since I lived on Green Mountain back in the 90s. That says something for its staying power! In fact, in a previous visit, my girlfriend inquired if they were hiring, and the waiter politely said no. He went on to explain that people die here! Not in that sense, but in the sense that they don't leave once they get a job there.! He called over another waitress and she went on to say that she was there for 14 years and her brother was there for more than that. Then he pointed out the owner sitting at the bar, an older Gent enjoying his Empire.....even in his off hours! As for our dinner, both of our meals were excellent. I can't recall all that we had, but my son enjoyed his Salmon and I enjoyed my Flank Steak. an excellent meal!...We will return! ”

“ Every once and a while I make the drive out to Lakewood to dine at Union 240, and every time I go I think, "This is about the best restaurant on the entire westside 6th Ave corridor, so why don't I come out here more?" Have now visited the spot 3 times in as many weeks. So what happened you might ask. And the answer is . . . I got stood up once (but had an excellent meal); I got a great meal the next time, but lost my wedding ring; They found it, and I went back and got it. Whew! So here's the long story: I know I'm not that interesting of a person, but when I set a business lunch with a guy I've known in a business context for years, I though he'd at least show up: Especially after I'd confirmed the rez with him. But he just never showed at 240 Union for our lunch, and then he totally ghosted me. Gotta admit it was somewhat humbling to get completely vaporized by him. No "I'm jammed/sorry/sick/whatever" texts or emails. No response to mine. No nada. No nothin. So I sat and by myself and had a simply wonderful grilled salmon entre with saffron rice and broccolini/rabe at 240 Union, so it turned out not to be a total waste. Ironically, his boss was coming out to Colorado a week later and I've known her for years so when we talked and agreed the 2 of us would go to lunch I (mischievously) suggested we meet at 240 Union (knowing that she would tell him that she was meeting me for lunch there, and maybe causing him to feel at least a little discomfort:). Anyway, I met his boss for lunch and we had a great time. Crab cakes and a salad for me and trout for her, and they were both wonderful. I left thinking, "well neat, I haven't been to 240 Union for a long time and now I've gone twice and had great mid-day meals." Got home that night and was about to tell my honey about my experience when I looked down and saw that I wasn't wearing my wedding ring. OMG. Argh-and-half. My wife had that ring custom made for me by a pretty well known jewelry designer so not only was it expensive but I love it and wear it every day without fail. So how did I lose it? Stopped drinking alcohol a few weeks ago after reading about how not-good it is for you and had noticed I was drinking a bit too much. That was making my mouth really dry and waking me up at night. So I've experimentally quit. Discovered the only really good non-alcoholic beer that I've found (Athletic's hazy IPA called something like "Heat Wave" or sumpin like that) and have come to really enjoy it. Bottom line is that by not drinking alcohol for a month I sleep better and have dropped more than 5 lbs. I guess where I lose weight is in my hands (?) 'cause my ring got really loose. After I'd looked everywhere and couldn't find it, I finally realized that the last place I'd seen it was when I was having lunch at 240 Union. So I called and the kind owner Michael almost hooted with happiness that I'd called and asked about the ring because he had it. A fellow diner had seen it on the carpet under the table where my friend and I had eaten and had turned it in. So I went out that next day and Michael happily gave me back my ring, a picture of which is attached below. So now you know that not only is 240 Union a great restaurant that you and yours should definitely go to, but you also know that it's owned and staffed by the most honest, most kind, and most customer-friendly folks in Colorado.
